Four F-8 courts attackers arrested

Crime Investigation Department (CID) in collaboration with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has arrested four people, including a local facilitator, for involvement in Islamabad F-8 Kutchery attack.

According to reports, the arrested group was also responsible for launching suicide attack at Peshawar courts in 2013.

The CID has been making major strides for the last two years in countering terrorism and disrupting terrorist networks throughout the country.

Moreover, the agency also solved 30 major terrorist acts including attack on F-8 Katchery, attack on Imambargah in Hayatabad Peshawar, suicide attack on political leader of ANP, Bashir Bilour, Meena Bazar, Peshawar attack in 2009, suicide attack on PA Khyber agency office and suicide attack at district courts in Peshawar.

The apprehended groups also carried out numerous target killing, kidnapping for ransom and extortion acts. These terrorist acts were perpetrated by a TTP and LI affiliated Commander Nazeer Group.

HEROIN SMUGGLING FOILED, TWO HELD:

Separately, the Airport Security Force (ASF) on Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle 1 kilogramme of heroin to Jeddah, arresting two suspects at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.

The suspects, who were identified as Imran and Uzma, were intercepted for carrying the contraband at the clearance booth by the ASF. The suspects had concealed the heroin in toothpaste tubes.

Later, the suspects were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further investigation.

24 SUSPECTS ARRESTED:

Moreover, Islamabad Police have arrested 24 suspects/outlaws during search operation in various areas of the city, a police spokesman said.

Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam Khan directed all SDPOs and SHOs to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city and conduct search operation at slum areas, Afghan habitats, under construction buildings, workshops, bus stands and inns.

Following his directions, sub-divisional police officers performing in Islamabad headed this search operation in the areas of Secretariat Police Station. They succeeded in nabbing 11 suspects who are being investigated further.

The capital police have also arrested 13 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered snatched valuables and weapons from their possession. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them
