Brutality at its peak

On Wednesday morning, Assistant Professor Waheed-ur-Rehman of Department of Mass Communication, University of Karachi, passed away in a firing attack at FB Area, near his residence. It’s the peak of brutality that professors are being killed. Teachers are spiritual parents, it’s a sacred profession. Those who fired at him are not humans; they are beasts. It has become a routine to extinguish the candles which spread the light of education, truth and hope in our society. Few days ago Sabeen Mahmood died in a terrorist attack and now a professor. Karachi operation is still in process but everyday five to seven persons are being killed on unknown basis.

Karachi has become a city of bloodshed where each day people keep losing life. This creates a question: if we do something for the betterment of our country, what’s our future — a bullet or a suicide bomb attack? When we will have a safe and sound Pakistan where such important persons will be respected. These attacks have become so common that no one’s life has any meaning. When will the culprits be arrested and get punished?
