SHOs roam free in the absence of Rawal Station SP

SHOs of around eight police stations under the jurisdiction of the Rawal Division are enjoying their freedom since the authorities have failed to appoint an SP for the station.

Complainants are facing many difficulties in registering their issues with the authorities due to lacklustre attitude of the SHOs.

The police station under Rawal jurisdiction comprised of Rata police Amrar, Ganjmandi, City, Pirwadai, Waris Khan, Banni, Sadiqabad and Newtown, where around 4,000,000 people live.

The seat has been vacant for the past two months as the last SP appointed for the Rawal division, Karamat Hussain, was promoted to the post of S.S.P operational.

Butt, a resident of Sadiqabad, while talking to the media said that the residents of the area have several concerns as justice was not provided to them.

Another resident of the area said that people have to find a reference in order to contact the police directly because the officers don’t cooperate with the citizens. A case, which does not have a reference, cannot be heard at any forum, due to which the SHOs in the area have been having the time of their life while shirking their duties to the public.

The citizens of the area have demanded the administration of the area and Punjab government to take notice of the matter and requested that a quick decision be made in appointing a well-reputed officer on the post.
