An election tribunal on Monday reserved its verdict against the petition filed against rigging in constituency NA-125.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Inssaf (PTI) leader Hamid Khan adopted the stance that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Khawaja Saad Rafique had been elected as National Assembly member through rigging which was done on a large scale whereas results were also changed.
Khan also stated that rigging has also been proved in the relevant constituency after vote recounting therefore, orders should be issued for re-election.
On the other hand, Rafique told the court that all the allegations are baseless as no rigging was carried out in NA-125.
He said that the PTI’s candidate was giving a misleading account of the constituency as no rigging had been proved after vote recount therefore, the petition should be dismissed.
Court, after concluding arguments of both the parties, reserved the verdict which will be announced on April 30.
