Police and security agencies in a joint operation in RA Bazar arrested an important commander of a banned organisation on Sunday.
Commander Tahir Farooqi, who is known to be an expert in the making of suicide jackets, was arrested from RA Bazar and a heavy cache of arms was also recovered from his custody.
Farooqi is reported to be the head of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s armed wing.
After his arrest, he was shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. Sources said that more arrests are expected in the light of the investigation.
