The National Assembly will resume its session on Monday afternoon after a two-day break; the session is likely to be a stormy one as the opposition parties are highly annoyed over the absence of the ministers during the sitting.
However, the government and allied parties have asked their ministers to ensure their presence but on Thursday and Friday, most of the ministers were absent and the sessions were adjourned for lack of quorum.
Another point of agitation by the opposition is the attitude of Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali who exchanged words with PPP MNA Nafisa Shah. Leader of the opposition Syed Khursheed Shah has convened a meeting of the opposition parties in the parliament house today at 4 PM. PTI and MQM have also been invited to the meeting to devise a strategy.
The opposition says that Abid Sher Ali should apologise over his uncalled for remarks otherwise they would boycott the proceedings. However, the minister of state has not given any indication so far, as to whether or not he will be apologising.
