310 votes cast by single voter in NA-202: NADRA

National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA’s) report regarding verification of thumbprints revealed that 310 votes were cast by a single individual in NA-202 constituency of Shikarpur whereas 503 people cast their vote twice in another polling station of the same constituency during General Elections 2013, local media reported on Sunday.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s Aftab Shaban was elected MNA from NA-202.

Private news channel aired copy of the of the General Elections 2013 thumbprints verification report in which NADRA has said that 100 percent verification of thumbprints is not possible in any constituency.

It was revealed that in NA-118, from which Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Muhammad Riaz Malik was elected MNA, 142 of the votes cast were not even registered.

More than 11,000 fake identity cards were used in NA-256 Karachi whereas 791 votes cast were not the ones registered from the relevant area.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Iqbal Muhammad Ali was elected MNA from this constituency.

The report has also stated that in NA-40 constituency of FATA, 2,597 people cast their vote twice, 9,349 votes were on fake ID cards which include those that have never been issued.

PML-N’s Muhammad Nazeer Khan was elected MNA from this constituency.

Besides this 57,642 votes have not been verified yet by NADRA about which it has been said in the report that Election Commission (EC) didn’t used quality ink whereas untrained staff has applied excessive ink on the thumbs due to which the verification process could not be confirmed.
