Blast injures five cops, passerby in Peshawar

At least five officials of Quick Response Force (QRF) and one passerby sustained injuries in a blast near Gulbahar Police Station in Peshawar on Friday.

According to the police, a QRF vehicle was blown up as it passed by a two kilogramme bomb operated by a remote controlled device planted by the roadside. Law enforcement personnel cordoned off the area as rescue teams shifted the injured to Lady Reading Hospital for medical assistance. The condition of one QRF official is said to be critical.

Meanwhile, in a search operation in Nasir Bagh area of the provincial capital, police arrested four suspected terrorists and seized a huge quantity of explosives and arms. Sources said the arrested terrorists were taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
