The Pakistani nation can never forget the favour China has rendered by investing $46 billion, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while addressing a press conference regarding the agreements made during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistan on Wednesday.
He said that the historic economic package given by the Chinese president Jinping is not a great gift for any specific unit of the country but for 180 million people of Pakistan which will take national solidarity, brotherhood and unity to a whole new level.
“April 20 is of historic importance for Pakistan which will be remembered as the day when the foundation of economically strong Pakistan was laid and such days are rare in the lives of nations,” he said, adding that this day is a beginning of new journey of development and prosperity.
“Seventeen years ago, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan an atomic power and its defense invincible and the credit of organising country’s economy on sound foundations is also going to Nawaz Sharif,” he said while congratulating the prime minister and the entire nation.
He expressed the hope that the fate of the national economy will change due to the investment package and Pakistan will certainly get its lost status of Asian tiger.
“We have to adopt the golden principles of hard work, trust and honesty in order to achieve great heights,” he said, adding that if the entire nation is determined then any mountain, ocean or river cannot create hurdle in achieving this goal. He said that all out effort will be made for the implementation of agreements made during the visit of President Xi.
He said that Pakistan will be made an Islamic welfare state in the real sense as per the vision of our founding fathers.
“A glorious journey of development and prosperity has started with the cooperation of China and its end will also be great, the Punjab chief minister said, adding that work will be carried out on war footing for timely completion of projects.
He said that Chinese banks have financed Chinese investment of billions of dollars. He said that complete monitoring of the projects will be carried out and it will be implemented speedily.
