Rangers release director, deputy director KDA

Rangers on Wednesday released Director of KDA Najam-uz-Zaman and Deputy Director Land Anwar Farooqi.

As per sources, no official proceedings in this regard have been made whereas spokesman to Rangers was also contacted several times.

Earlier, Rangers on Wednesday sacked Karachi Development Authority (KDA) senior director land along with four Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members in land extortion accusations.

Rangers, during an operation in North Nazimabad, sacked Najamuz Zaman, KDA senior director land. According to the sources, Zaman is accused of China-cutting and land extortion. While as many as four MQM members have also been arrested for the same accusations.

Separately, Rangers have arrested at least four terrorists belonging to Swati group of banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and seized weapons from their possession during an operation in Banaras area.

Moreover, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has arrested a kidnapper during an operation in Machar Colony. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Farooq Awan, Hameed Hussain kidnapped a 20-year-old boy and killed him later. The criminal is a gang war member. The police have seized weapons from his possession.

Suspect arrested from Nine-Zero, Farhan Shabbir alias Mullah, and Naeem alias Guddu, were identified on Wednesday by witnesses in Karachi. According to details, Farhan Shabbir alias Mullah and Naeem alias Guddu were presented before the Judicial Magistrate East Court for identification parade by Rangers and police amid tight security.

A witness identified Mullah in Constable Tariq’s murder case who was earlier killed in Alfalah police station area whereas two witnesses identified Guddu in murder of Jahanzaib and Asghar on May 12, 2007. The witnesses also stated that Naeem alias Guddu was former sector incharge of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
