In connection with the death anniversary of the poet of the east, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Rawalpindi Arts Council arranged a tableau and singing of Kalam-e-Iqbal competition on Tuesday.
Chairman Green Task Force (Pride of Performance) Dr Jamal Nasir accompanied by Naheed Manzoor, Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed, Chairman Jinnah Iqbal Fikri Forum Rana Abdul Baqi and office bearers of Private School Management Association was chief guest at the occasion. Senior poet Aftab Zia and SM Tanvir Nusrat adjudged the competition.
During the Kalam-e-Iqbal, competition the Bright Land School grabbed the first position, Anglo-Arabic Public Secondary School senior campus secured second position, Divisional Public School got third position, and Headway Escula remained fourth. Similarly, in the tableau competition, Bright Land School got first position, Allied School System City campus bagged second, Divisional Public School grabbed third while Iqra Public School remained fourth. Addressing at the prize distribution ceremony, Dr Jamal Nasir said that young generation must be trained in line with the messages of Dr Allama Iqbal.
He said Iqbal’s poetry becomes sources of inspiration for the young generation. He said it is need of the hour to impart philosophy of Iqbal to young generation. Naheed Manzoor said that Allama Iqbal was not only a thinker, philosopher and intellectual but also a revolutionary poet.
Chairman Jinnah Iqbal Fikri Forum Rana Abdul Baqi said that life, personality and poetry must be taught in schools and colleges so that the younger generation could be trained according to this philosophy. Resident Director Waqar Ahmed said that organising this competition is supposed to convey the philosophy of Iqbal to the younger generation.
