The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Monday expressed optimism that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit would prove a great booster for the Pakistan’s economy.
Talking to a high level Chinese delegation led by Qinghai Provincial Commerce Department Director General Yu Xiao at LCCI, LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz said that China has played a significant role in economic development of Pakistan.
Topics of mutual interest came under discussion and both sides pledged to play their due role to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
“The visit of the Chinese president will not only cement trade and economic ties between the two brotherly countries but also pave way for joint ventures between Pakistani and Chinese businessmen in various sectors of economy,” Mumtaz said.
He said that the visit is a landmark and historical moment in the history of Pak-China relationship, adding that agreements worth billion dollars would help Pakistan to overcome its economic ills.
He said that the visit of Chinese delegates from Qinghai province indicated that Chinese business community was focusing on Pakistan in general and Punjab in particular for strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.
