Say Ni Hao to the economic boom

The $46 billion investment package announced of Chinese President Xi Jinping has laid the foundation of a bright economic future for Pakistan, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while talking to journalists after the ceremony of historic agreements in Islamabad on Monday.

He said that the speech of the Chinese president has given a new courage and hope to Pakistani nation. He said that the coming years will be an era of economic development and prosperity of the people of Pakistan, adding that Pakistani nation will have more joys and happiness under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

While talking to the heads of government and private sector companies associated with energy, infrastructure, transport, mining and other sectors, he said that due to the historic visit of the Chinese president, a new history of friendship between China and Pakistan is being written and a new dimension has been given to the unprecedented relations between the two countries.

“The visit will write a new chapter of progress and prosperity,” he said.

POWER CHINA COMPANY’S DELEGATION MEETS CM:

A delegation led by Power China Company chairman which constructed Three Gorges, the biggest dam of the world, met the chief minister and agreed to increase cooperation for the projects of generation of electricity from water resources.

“Electricity will be generated from water reserves in Punjab with the cooperation of China,” he said, adding that China is making investment of billions of dollars in energy sector in Pakistan and the world has seen that those who were declaring investment in energy sector as loan were misleading.

METRO TRAIN COMING SOON:

Another high level delegation of China Railways and Noranco International met Shahbaz Sharif and discussed Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train is a glorious project which will prove to be the starting point of the latest transport system in Pakistan. He said that due to this project, speedy, comfortable and economical travelling facility will become available to the citizens.

“The metro train project is a gift of the Chinese president and prime minister for the people of Pakistan,” he said, adding that tens of thousands of job opportunities will be created due to the Chinese investment and the launching of various projects.

“A new era of progress and development in Pakistan will start as a result of economic package of China,” he said, adding that he would personally monitor the projects being started with the cooperation of China and standard and transparency will be ensured besides the projects will be implemented speedily. The delegation of China Railways was led by its vice president while Noranco International group by its president. A delegation led by China Machinery Engineering Cooperation Chairman also met the chief minister and discussed increase in cooperation in energy, mining and other sectors.
