Pakistan will likely play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20 internationals in Sri Lanka during the tour planned for June and July, a Sri Lanka Cricket official has said.
The tour itinerary, which is close to being confirmed, shows Pakistan will begin their tour with a three-day practice match in Colombo. The teams will then move to Galle, where the first Test is scheduled to begin on June 17. The two other Tests are set to be played in Colombo, at the P Sara Oval, and the Premadasa Stadium.
The ODIs are slated to begin in Dambulla on July 11, with matches also set to be played in Pallekele, Colombo and Hambantota. The T20s that will cap the tour are both scheduled for the Premadasa Stadium. The first four ODIs have reserve days, and all except the match at Dambulla, are expected to be day/night encounters. The tour itinerary is expected to be confirmed as soon as a memorandum of understanding is signed between the boards.
This tour will be the sixth bilateral encounter between these teams in as many years. They played three Tests in the UAE in 2014, before Pakistan’s mid-year tour of Sri Lanka, which comprised of two Tests and three ODIs.
