LHC issues arrest warrants of Punjab secretary labour in contempt case

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued arrest warrants of Punjab secretary labour for failing to appear before the court despite being summoned in contempt of court case.

A single bench of LHC comprising Justice Shahid Jamil took up the case for hearing on Monday.

Counsel for the petitioner Ishtiaq Chaudhry advocate told the court that outstanding dues are not being paid to a worker working in private company despite court’s orders. Neither any reply is being filed by the secretary labour nor has he appeared in the court.

He informed the court that the secretary labour is not caring for the court’s orders therefore, contempt of court proceedings be initiated against him.

The court while issuing arrest warrants of the secretary labour adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.

He said that the visit of Chinese delegates from Qinghai province indicated that Chinese business community was focusing on Pakistan in general and Punjab in particular for strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.
