Karachi commissioner assures security to Zimbabwe

Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has assured of foolproof security to the visiting Zimbabwe team, after the return of international cricket since the 2009 terror attack on Sri Lankan cricket team.

Karachi Commissioner  Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has assured foolproof security to the visiting Zimbabwe team as Pakistan prepares to host its first international series next month after a gap of six years.

“Revival of international cricket after six years is a cheerful occasion for everyone,” Siddiqui said in response to a letter by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in which he had also requested for fool-proof security for the Zimbabwe team.

Zimbabwe will also play a One-Day International and a Twenty20 International at the National Stadium Karachi.

“Sports for peace is our message and we feel proud to be hosting Zimbabwe in Karachi,” he remarked.

“It is our collective responsibility to not only highlight Pakistan’s positive aspects but also give a message to the world that the country is safe for sports.”
