QUETTA: Former Balochistan Assembly speaker Aslam Bhootani has pushed for doing without the coal-fired power plant project in Lasbela district of Gadani, stating possible risks to the environment and human life as the most critical reasons. The project had been proposed by the Hub Power Company (HUBCO)
“Coal emissions are detrimental to human life, and I have decided to approach the judiciary if the Pakistani and Chinese governments don’t half the project immediately,” he declared.
“The project must not be initiated considering its hazardous impact on environment and human life, particularly in Sindh and Balochistan,” said Bhootani, who was elected an MPA from Lasbela multiple times.
Bhootani has advised on using alternative resources instead.
