Government to add more mobile health units: Salman

As per the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, more mobile health units of one billion rupees are being purchased during the current year to provide treatment facilities to the people of remote districts of the province at their doorstep, said Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique while addressing a pre-bid seminar regarding purchase of mobile health units at Services Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday.

Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik, Director General Health Dr Zahid Pervaiz, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Abdul Haq Bhatti, Members of Technical Committee Director General PCSIR Dr Shahzad, Dr Asif of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Dr Jahangir Akhtar, Engineer Muhammad Ali and representatives of firms having interest in provision of mobile health units were present on the occasion. Technical committee informed in detail to representatives of firms regarding technical qualification of mobile health units in the seminar.

Rafique said that the Punjab chief minister has directed that mobile health units should be durable and of high quality and have the ability to bear weather conditions and long journey and could provide facilities of service delivery effectively. He said that mobile health units are providing best services for the last many years in six districts of the province and in the light of successful experience more units are being purchased. He said it will be kept in view that the new mobile health units with high quality medical equipments should be durable and of high quality like those purchased earlier which could provide service to the people for long period.
