Chinese mayor rides metro bus, visits historical places

Tang Lianghzi, Mayor of Chengdu, China along with his delegation travelled from in a metro bus from Ittefaq Hospital Station to Minar-e-Pakistan Station on Saturday. District Coordination Officer Lahore Usman Younas also accompanied them.

He apprised the Chinese mayor of metro bus project, historical buildings located around metro corridor including MAO College building, Civil Secretariat, Government College University and Data Darbar.

The Chinese mayor appreciated the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for providing modern and comfortable travelling facilities to the people and said that his devotion and efficiency of working for the development of the province is laudable.

Tang Lianghzi along with his delegation visited Badshahi Masjid, Royal Fort and Lahore Museum. Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Sumbal, Secretary Auqaf Sheharyar Sultan and other government officers were also present on the occasion. The secretary auqaf informed the delegation about the historical background and importance of Badshahi Masjid.

Later, during the visit of the delegation to Lahore Museum, Director Museum Sumaira Samad gave a detailed briefing to the delegation about the museum and relics present in it. Members of the delegation evinced special interest in historical remnants. Later, the mayor attended a luncheon at the Governor House.
