Count on the PTI to run in circles and keep contradicting itself. Now there’s word of an internal power struggle, triggered by the return to the assembly, of course. There were some that wanted to and then there were some that remained feverishly opposed. No surprises for guessing who won. But things changed rapidly after Kh Asif’s jabs. Seems none of those present (from the PTI) could stand up for the kaptaan; not wanting to invite the speaker’s fury immediately upon returning, no doubt. So Jahangir Tareen had to speak for the boss. And he didn’t even want the guys to return. Another of PTI’s ironies, it seems.

Mrs Shahbaz Sharif the third has a thing for being in the news, doesn’t she? She has a Tehmina Durrani Foundation, and it’s been providing 10-marla houses to the needy. Even their letter head goes ‘Duss Marla…’. Anyhow the Peshawar tragedy stirred a little something inside her, and she wanted the families of children and teachers lost in the tragedy to have some of those houses. She even advised the KP government to allot some houses on Charsaddah Road, meant for some government department apparently, to be allotted to the families. She even suggested a March 23 deadline. But it’s not as if Khattak sb’s been listening or anything. And if actions really speak louder than words, how’s this one? The KP government has just given an ad to allot those houses just like they were going to all along.
