TTP commander among 6 killed in encounter

At least six terrorists of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in exchange of fire with police on Saturday. Huge cache of arms was recovered in operation after the encounter.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Malir Anwar Rao said the encounter took place when police conducted crackdown in SaadiTown at Super Highway in Karachi. The militants hiding in the area offered strong resistance and started firing at cops which led to fire exchange.

In cross firing, six terrorists including Ahmad, a commander of Hakimullah Mehsood, were killed besides huge cache of arms was recovered from their possession. Rao Anwar said the TTP commander Ahmad had recently traveled to Karachi from Waziristan Agency for medical treatment.

The police following the killing of TTP commanders cordoned off the entire area and launched search operation during which huge cache of illegal weapons were seized and several suspects arrested.
