In line with Chairman NAB, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry’s request to Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sohail Naqvi, for support in setting up an effective Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) System in NAB which has warnings and an alarms system for violators and delinquents.
Accordingly, a team from LUMS led by Programs Centre for Governance and Public Management, Director, Ali Khan, visited NAB Headquarters where they were explained the requirements of a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Framework for the organisation.
The team had a detailed session with senior officers including officers related to IT at NAB headquarters and got briefing on Accountability Management System (AMS) being introduced in NAB. The LUMS team also visited NAB Islamabad/Rawalpindi Regional Bureau where they were given briefing by DG and other senior members of NAB about the working of NAB at a Regional level.
At the end of the two day LUMS visit the team gave a briefing to the senior members of NAB. They gave their recommendations for setting up an effective Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (System) in NAB having warnings and alarms system for violators and delinquents. A detailed question and answer session was held during the meeting and improvements in the AMS to cover the evaluation part of M&E framework in NAB. The detailed M&E framework was approved by the chairman for its early implementation.
