Former chief of the defunct People’s Amn Committee Uzair Baloch has filed a bail plea in a UAE court.

The Sindh government has been trying to extradite Baloch from the UAE government but have been unable to do so because of legal complications.

Uzair fled Pakistan in 2013 after the launch of a Rangers operation in Karachi and was detained in the UAE based on Interpol’s red-warrant on December 29 at the Dubai-Oman border.

According to sources, officials have asked the Pakistani consulate in Dubai to provide a temporary passport for Uzair, which may be issued within 24 hours. However, the Sindh government has been unable to provide the necessary documents and evidence required to extradite Baloch.
