Death toll due to anti-measles vaccine reaches 6 in Balochistan

Two more children died today (Friday) due to vaccination of measles in Qila Saifullah district of Balochistan, bringing the death toll to six in two days, according to local media sources. Abdul Qadir, the medical officer of children ward in Civil Hospital, said the vaccination was not substandard.

Several children were reported to be in critical condition and four of them died after they were administered anti-measles vaccine on Thursday in a government-run hospital of Qila Saifullah district.

The affected children were later shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment.
