The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) candidate for NA-246, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, termed the demands of Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates irrational and unnecessary, and demanded to depute foreign observers for the by-elections.
While addressing a press conference at Jinnha Ground, Azizabad area, the MQM’s candidate said the PTI demanded to depute law enforcement agencies personnel in and outside the polling booths.
He said the PTI leadership then demanded to bring election staff from the other province. Naveed Jameel said now they were demanding to get the ballot-papers published from outside the province.
He said the opponent smelt the defeat so they started crying and tried to make the election process controversial and said that the PTI and JI leaderships did not demand to depute national and international observers.
He said Taliban terrorists attacked MQM campaign camps which caused various party workers deaths and injuries and hindered MQM to continue its election campaign properly. He expressed his reservations over the installation of biometric system in polling-booths and asked about the plan in case machines fail during the process.
