Alvi demands printing of ballot papers under Rangers’ supervision

Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Arif Alvi on Wednesday demanded printing of ballot papers under the supervision of Rangers as, he said, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was fully prepared to rig the by-election of NA-246.

Arif Alvi and Ali Zaidi claimed that the MQM had printed fake ballot papers to win the by-elections. While talking to the media along with Samar Ali and Ali Zaid, Arif Alvi revealed that 80 percent of MQM people were part of the printing team, therefore, Rangers should be called in to avoid any unpleasant happening.

He said that the PTI had initiated social activities in Cantonment areas by installing water pipeline in Defence Housing Authority (DHA). PTI leaders said they wanted NA 246 by-elections to be held in a fair and transparent manner.

He said trained PTI polling agents would be present at polling booths to ensure transparency in the polls.

On this occasion, president PTI Ali Zaidi stated that they wanted rigging-free election and that an adjustment had been done with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) over local bodies elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Replying to a question, he said the PTI would not withdraw its candidate in favour of Jamaat-e-Islami.

“The atmosphere of fear has broken now in Karachi and hopefully the city will again be peaceful”, Zaidi asserted.
