In the recently waged, holistically conducted decisive war against terrorism, meaningful achievements have been accomplished by state machinery. In this regard Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has done a remarkable service by carrying out verification of telecommunication users. There are more than 103m prepaid mobile users which were given a three-month deadline to authenticate their SIMs through biometric system for keeping it operational.
After completing the process PTA has blocked over 25m unverified SIMs which will definitely cease unauthenticated, unidentified and malicious use of telecommunication facility. It is a common knowledge that terrorism is never a solo flight and terrorists work through a meticulously arranged network in which communication plays a vital role. It is commendable on the part of government that it is tracing down all facilitative sources of terrorism so that the heavenly peace and tranquility of our beloved motherland once achieved may never be troubled again.
