LAHORE:
A pump operator was killed and two others sustained injuries when a gunman attacked LESCO civil works office near Sukh Nehar in Shalimar area on Monday morning.
As per details, the attacker identified as Asif alias Malkachi opened fire after an altercation with staff members at Lesco civil works office. Resultantly, pump operator was killed and gardener Fayyaz got injured.
A police contingent arrived at the scene within few minutes. The culprit locked himself up in a room and started firing on policemen.
During exchange of fire, constable Shafiq was hit in his leg. Police called in more units and the firing continued for two hours. Finally, the suspect was arrested and his weapon was confiscated.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and ordered DIG operations to submit a report.
