Rangers overnight conducted a raid at a house located in the megacity area of Azizabad and arrested two people.
One of the captured men, Muazzam Ali Shah, is a local businessman and has “political sympathies” for the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM).
According to details, a heavy contingent of Rangers’ officials raided the Mutassal House near the Abu Tarab Imambargah early Sunday morning and arrested Muazzam Ali, and confiscated his laptop.
Moreover, the suspect was transferred to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
The family protested against his detention and demanded an immediate release. The MQM has denied any relations with Muazzam and said that the family has been living in the area for many years but the man has no links with MQM.

Meanwhile, the MQM Co-ordination Committee has strongly denied any connection with the people arrested by Rangers.
In a joint statement, MQM Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan, have clarified media reports about the arrest of two people arrested by Rangers.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the arrested persons had been living in Azizabad for many years. They may have developed personal acquaintance with any MQM worker, but they have never been office-bearer or worker of the MQM.
