YDA protests cause traffic gridlocks

The Young Doctors Association’s (YDA) protest took place on various roads of the city on Thursday after the demands put forth by the YDA were not fulfilled.

Lahore’s Mall road, Jail road, Canal road and Ferozepur road were closed for traffic as doctors protested for their demands. Traffic problems ensued in many areas of the city.

Doctors said that three years back the government announced the service structure, but up until now, no practical implementation for the same has taken place. The doctors further demanded that newly employed doctors be hired at Grade 18, and salaries be increased.

They also asked that non-paid post-graduates trainees and house officials should be paid allowances. The young doctors chanted slogan with great passion in favour of their demands.
