The Sindh High Court (SHC) Friday ordered four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) assembly members to submit replies regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) petition demanding suspension of theirs as members of the assembly.
A division bench comprising SHC Chief Justice (CJ) Faisal Arab and Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput was hearing a petition filed by MQM leader Shahid Sheikh. The petitioner demanded cancellation of membership of four PTI Sindh Assembly members and holding of elections in their specific constituencies.
The court directed the Sindh additional advocate general to inquire from the Sindh Assembly speaker whether or not the PTI members had returned to the assembly.
The court ordered the PTI members to submit their replies within three weeks.
