Five fall prey to violence

As many as five people were killed and six others injured in different violence incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday.

A man, Tariq, was killed and a woman, Mrs Shamraiz, injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on their car near Abdullah College in North Nazimabad. The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). The victim was the driver of police officer Shamraiz. They were on their way to pick children from their school.

A man, aged about 28, was gunned down by unknown armed men at Afshani Street, Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

In an incident of firing, one man, Nasarullah, 40, son of Muhammad Hussain, was killed and Akber, 30, son of Rafiq, injured near Noor-ul-Aman Imam Bargah in Nazimabad. The body and injured were shifted to ASH.

One man, Hanif DJ, 25, was shot dead by unknown at Singo Lane in Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for medico legal formalities. However, one Ameen, 55, son of Junaid was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Metroville SITE area. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.

In another incident, two teenagers, Amir Ali, 19, son of Buzrug Mian and Muhammad Noor, 20, son of Syed Hussain, were injured in firing by unidentified armed men. They were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.

Yet in another incident, a man, Mehdi Hasan, 30, was shot and injured near Khan Coach bus stop in Shireen Jinnah Colony. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment. In a separate incident, Muhammad Owais, 26, son of Muhammad Nadeem, was injured by gun shot near Fatmia Hospital, Gru Mander area. He was shifted to CHK for treatment.
