PakWheels holds successful auto show in Lahore

There was a time when auto enthusiasts in Pakistan did not have it so good and they had to access magazines and portals of other countries to satiate their love for cars and bikes.

Not so anymore because Pakistan now has its own portal exclusively dealing with the auto industry. It is called PakWheels.com and has grown to become Pakistan’s number one automotive website.

PakWheels is in fact not just a web portal but a name that is associated with a whole series of auto shows held throughout the year in different parts of Pakistan. These events attract auto aficionados from all over the country to gather, sample different cars and bikes and exchange notes on features, performance and the works.

It all started in 2011 when PakWheels held their first Auto Show in Lahore. The tradition has since held on and the city witnessed its 5th Auto Show on March 22. The Show was held in the Liberty Market Parking Lot in Gulberg and was inaugurated by the well-known singer Ali Zafar. It was dedicated to cancer children under treatment at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore.

It was a day full of fun activities for auto lovers and their families who came not only from Lahore but other surrounding areas as well. There were a whole range of automobiles on display – from classic to vintage, exotic, luxury 4×4 and SUVs. Quite a bit of effort was also seen afoot in educating the motorsport enthusiasts about the risks of street racing and reckless driving. The local police had even established a booth to give out ‘learners’ licences to visitors.

The event turned out to be a big show with a whole variety of cars and bikes on display and was attended by thousands of visitors.
