Second phase of a three-day anti polio drive has been launched amid tight security in 17 zones of Quetta Monday.
The polio drive will administer drops to as many as 2,26,569 children under age five in the areas of Aghbarg, Ahmad Khanzai, Kotwal Kachi Baig, Hazara Town, Kachlak and Panjpai.
At least 488 polio teams were made that will inoculate vaccination drops at 33 transit points and 46 fixed points whereas as per sources, 976 police officers have also been deployed for the security of polio workers.
Earlier, a three-day anti polio drive on Tuesday has been initiated in 18 zones of Quetta to inoculate polio drops and vitamin A drops to as many as 228,382 children under age five.
As per details, 892 polio teams have been arranged by the administration that would administer polio drops to children at transit points and 48 fixed centres.
Administration has also beefed up the security of polio workers by deploying at least 784 security personnel.
