Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah Monday welcomed Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI)’s return to the Parliament and termed it a victory for democracy.
“The PTI has realised that the Parliament is the supreme authority. This is the best place where you can serve the nation,” he said while speaking at the joint sitting of the Parliament. He said dialogue was the best way to resolve an issue. “The credit for PTI’s return goes to the opposition.”
Shah in particular mentioned Senator Aitzaz Ahsan for playing a mediatory role between the government and the PTI. He also lauded the National Assembly speaker for not accepting the resignations of PTI members.
Ayaz Sadiq, he said, acted in accordance with rules and procedures as he had wanted to meet each member in person to first verify their resignations.
