Police in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have prepared comprehensive plans to ensure complete security on the occasion of celebration of Easter Day on Sunday.
According to police sources in the two cities, on special directives of the higher ups they have enhanced deployment of police at Churches for three days.
“The security is on high alert around churches,” a police official at a church in Rawalpindi said. The police officers would remain on duty for 24 hours so as to avoid any untoward incident in and outside the Churches.
The sources said that in addition to the deployment of police force, police patrol in the cities particularly in the vicinity of churches would be increased.
Similarly, police in other districts of Punjab has been asked to remain on high alert to avoid any repetition of attacks on two churches in Lahore last month.
It is worth mentioning that terrorists particularly target churches and places of worship of other minorities to gain publicity at the national and international level and bring a bad name to the country.
