Five suspected militants killed in Tirah airstrikes

At least five suspected militants were killed and 10 others were injured on Saturday in air strikes in Khyber Agency’s Tirah Valley.

Officials said the targeted militants belonged to Lashkar-e-Islam (LeI) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The aerial strikes, launched by security forces, were part of Operation Khyber-II.

On March 25, 30 suspected militants belonging to the LeI were also killed when security forces carried out airstrikes on militant sanctuaries in Tirah Valley.

A statement issued by the army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the military action on March 25 said two arms and ammunition dumps were destroyed in the strikes.

According to Reuters, LeI spokesperson Salahuddin Ayubi was also killed in the strikes.
