The Sindh government has announced a public holiday today (Saturday) across the province to mark the death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged to death on April 4, 1979, at the Rawalpindi district jail by the military dictator General Ziaul Haq. Every year Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its workers gather at Ghari Khuda Baksh and remember their beloved leader. The 36th death anniversary of the founding father of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will be observed today.
The PPP leadership will address the participants of the anniversary ceremony after recitation of the Holy Quran. However, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will observe the death anniversary in London.
