Security cameras and walkthrough gates installed on the premises of F-8 court have not been functioning for the last FEW months, making the location vulnerable to attacks similar to those that took place on March 3, 2014.
At least two people including a session’s judge were killed when armed persons stormed the F-8 court last year and the local administration had since then beefed up security in and around the area by placing security cameras, walkthrough gates and deploying police personnel.
During a visit to the court, it became obvious that almost all cameras and walkthrough gates were not working and the police officials deployed for security were absent.
A source in the court said that the local administration has been informed of the issue, and has been cautioned against another deadly attack, but the request has fallen on deaf ears.
The source further said that the police personnel on duty turn up in the morning to only to ensure that they mark their attendance and then disappear for the whole day, returning in the evening. Meanwhile, lawyers expressed their apprehension that another attack could not be ruled out if the security arrangements were not revisited by the local administration.
