Unhealthy criticism

Criticism for the sake of criticism is not a culture of a healthy and sound society. The nomination of Azhar Ali as an ODI captain has faced harsh criticism by a large portion of our society. Cricket is a professional game which needs skillful decisions that sometimes may not correlate with the wishes of cricket fans. The charge of captaincy granted to Azhar Ali by PCB, I believe, is a decision that is based on maturity and farsightedness. Azhar is indeed a tenacious and talented player who was unfortunately not included in the World Cup squad. He has played 14 ODI’s with an average above 40. He has played superb knocks in Test matches against brilliant teams like Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, etc although he has just 36 Test matches to his credit. We should back his nomination decided by PCB and support him as a captain so that it may trigger consistency in the performance of Pakistan cricket team.
