Reports of extortion of money and maltreatment of citizens by police at barricades have caught the attention of the District Administration, which will not be monitoring all barricades for the safety of the citizens.

Assistant commissioners and magistrates will conduct checks at the barricades twice a day and submit their report to the Islamabad chief commissioner.

Sources said about 150 police barricades have been erected in Islamabad to ensure provision of foolproof security. On the other hand, the police deployed on these barricades misbehave with citizens.

On receipt of such reports from the public by the chief commissioner, directives have been issued to all assistant commissioners and magistrates to keep a check on all the barricades. Any action against the police deployed on these barricades will be taken in the light of these reports.
