LAHORE:

Lahore police arrested on Thursday the son of former state minister for foreign affairs accused of killing a teenager.

A minor boy was gunned down by the son of a former federal minister over a trivial matter in the Cavalry Ground area late on Wednesday night.

According to details, Mustafa Kanju, son of former minister Siddique Khan Kanju, shot dead a 12-year-old boy, reportedly the son of a widow, following a minor car accident. Kanju was reportedly accompanied by seven gunmen but witnesses said that Mustafa had pulled the handgun’s trigger that claimed the life of the minor boy and injured another passerby. The accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf told Pakistan Today that police had taken into custody Mustafa’s gunmen while efforts were being made to arrest the main accused who had fled the scene after the shooting incident.

Ashraf said that police had registered an FIR [First Information Report] against Mustafa, adding that sections related to terrorism had also been added to the case.

“We will ensure justice to the minor child’s family no matter how influential the accused’s family is,” he said.

This is not the first time that the city has witnessed such arrogance and abuse of power by scions of political families.

On October 9, 2014, a youth was killed after a guard deployed with former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son Abdul Qadir Gilani fired on him following a quarrel near PTCL Exchange on Main Ghazi Road in Defence.

The victim’s family alleged that Qadir Gilani’s guard fired on Malik Tahir for trying to overtake their vehicle.

Police said 24-year-old Malik Tahir of Wapda Town was going on a motorbike in Y Block of DHA along with his brother Waheed at the time of the incident.

  1. This spoilt brat of a rich corrupt feudal will get away with murder as others have got away in Islamic Republic of Pakistan, just like murderers of Shahzeb and Hamza have got away. No wonder Jinnah's Pakistan is in such a mess.

  2. Bahria foundation will now come up with an alibi and say that Mustafa was signing documents at Bahrai Foundation. Just like they came up with the files saying that Ayaan Ali had sold her plots in Bahria and the money was genuine. Its like each of these so called rich and influential people scratch each other's backs. They can get away with such things but don't understand that they are answerable to Allah.

  3. This is Pakistan..Nothing will happen. The rich political families get away with everything. Especially if they belong to Nawaz/Shahbaz Sharif's Party…. A mother lost her son who was only in class 9..A WIDOW….another boy in critical condition…Only the guards have been arrested while this rich feudal is probably sitting in Dubai or London….Good Job Mr.Sahrif…you are turning Lahore into Karachi now….Lanat hai isss qom pay…Lanat hai Sahrifooo pay….

    • If you must know the same family is involve in the murder of someone I know. Forensic agencies were bribed to change autopsy reports.

  4. Who will ensure that the boy’s family is Not harassed by Kanjus? This case will die away as the CM himself is one such Kanju.

    • They will be harassed for sure, otherwise some money will be showered on forensic agencies and police. these politicians have been doing it for ages.

  5. And guess who will be next? Any idiot who fails to understand this game. Kanju brothers are skilled murderers, but Shareef brothers will hurry to save their puppies like they have always been doing.

  6. They caught him..please check his bloods…you will not only find alcohol…you will also find cocaine ..

  7. If sharif to save kanju who shot dead 13years old boy then they will be committing a great sin and guilty of Pakistan penal law .i hope and pray that people of come in support of every victim,so that these ,so elected criminals and there spotters are punished. May Allah swat protect people of Pakistan .amen
