Bodies of four men were found Thursday from near PIB Colony and Lyari Expressway in Karachi, police said.
According to police, two of the bodies were found from near Lyari Expressway while the other two were recovered from Lyari Nullah.
All the four men, said to be between 24 and 32 years old, had been tortured before they were shot dead and their bodies were dumped, said police. According to DSP Nasir Lodhi, the bodies have been sent to the Civil Hospital Karachi for identification. Meanwhile, at least nine suspected criminals were arrested in a high-scale search operation launched by police on Shahrae Quaideen near Tariq Road in the early hours of Thursday.
Police sources said entry and exit points of Shahrae Quaideen and Tariq Road were blocked during the search operation. Over 100 policemen took part in the massive crack down on criminal elements. In a police encounter, two suspected target killers were killed in the city’s Manghopir area. In separate raids, 15 suspects including four target killers were also arrested by the police. Police claimed to have recovered LMG, SMG, 9 MM, 30 bore pistols and hand grenades from their possession. Police and Rangers have intensified their ongoing operation against criminals and terrorists in the metropolis.
