The members of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) protested against the government on Tuesday demanding increase in salaries, improvement in service structure, and provision of fool-proof security at hospitals.
The YDA members blocked four main arteries suspending traffic for several hours.
The doctors protested at main thoroughfares including Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road and Ferozpur Road.
Patients faced problems due to the unavailability of doctors in hospitals, while the blockage of traffic for several hours caused inconvenience to citizens.
The YDA called off its protests at 1 pm, saying it will announce its future course of action at a press conference on Monday.
