Massive barriers and road blocks placed on avenues around Bilawal House—the residence of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, have been removed overnight.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) crew began the clearance operation around Bilawal House with the help of heavy machinery after midnight.
DC South led the nightlong operation to remove the heavy road barricades under considerable rangers guard.
It should be mentioned here that former president Zardari himself directed to do away with the barriers surrounding his Karachi residence—Bilawal House. As a result of the operation in which shipping containers have also been taken away, the road from Boat Basin to Sea View has been re-opened.
PPP leader Sharjeel Memon said the decision to dispose of the security barriers was taken up despite grave security threats. The same thoughts were voiced by former interior minister Rehman A. Malik who said the security barriers are being removed at Zardari’s behest.
