Following Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s approval, the federal government has increased petroleum prices by Rs 4 from Wednesday (today).
Federal Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar has said that petrol price has been increased by Rs 4 per litre, High Speed Diesel by Rs 3 per litre while prices of Kerosene Oil, High Octane Diesel and Light Diesel Oil will remain unchanged.
Earlier, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had forwarded a summary to prime minister seeking an increase in prices of petroleum products which was duly approved by him.
After the recent increase of Rs 4 per litre, petrol price has reached Rs 74.29 per litre while High Speed Diesel is now available for Rs 83.61 per litre.
Long queues of vehicles were witnessed at petrol pumps before implementation of new prices while owners of various filling stations closed the sale to sell the old stocks on increased prices.
