In the ongoing Yemen unrest, our civil and military leadership is gauging the entire situation for befitting political response and diplomatic strategy to cope with the crisis. Meanwhile, another vital issue of immediate importance in the shape of evacuating Pakistanis from Yemen has come to fore. Our government’s role in this regard is appreciable as it duly prioritised this evacuation over the question of extending tangible war support or working for its political and diplomatic solution. Pakistan Foreign Office proactively worked to strategise the evacuation plan while using all possible ways. Moreover, diplomatic channels are also being used as part of the evacuation plan as China’s ships will fetch Pakistanis. The Saudis are also being requested to adjust their combat schedule to allow peaceful evacuation. The role of our civil-military leadership and of our state machinery is commendable in bringing home soon our fellow Pakistanis, safe and sound.
