The operation is Karachi is being carried out against all the criminals and nobody should get annoyed over it as the operation was launched with consensus of all parties, said Pakistan Railways Minister Saad Rafique on Monday while talking to journalists after recording his statement before an election tribunal in connection with NA-125 rigging case.

He said that Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation met the prime minister and expressed some reservations regarding on-going operation in Karachi.

“Material provided by the delegation is being reviewed and genuine grievances would be redressed,” he said.

He said that all political parties in Karachi including the MQM should dissent themselves from terrorist wings as nobody could be allowed to keep armed groups.

To a question, he rejected allegations levelled against him by the runner-up Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Hamid Khan and said that no evidence was placed on record.

He said that electoral process in NA-125 was fair and the media also did not report any false incident. He said that PTI did not complain of rigging during the election process and 40-hours after the election. “What sort of rigging it is, which was not observed by anyone,” he questioned.

He questioned about the votes obtained by PTI in 2013 elections and said PTI managed to form government in a province besides securing seats in the National assembly.

“But, Imran is unable to digest his success,” he added.

To another question, Saad said that Najam Sethi being caretaker chief minister caused damage to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He changed staff from constable to chief secretary level.

He further said that it was unfortunate that Khan initiated his politics in Azad Kshmir by launching a known turncoat.
