Indian Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh offered to resign from the government following his controversial tweet expressing disgust after attending a Pakistan Day ceremony.
Quoting top sources, Times Now reported the minister offered to tender his resignation.
The move comes a day after Congress leader Manish Tewari told the former Indian army chief to quit instead of expressing disgust.
Tewari added that in the past, ministers refused to attend Pakistani events.
“When duty becomes a burden, the honourable thing to do is to put in your papers,” Tewari later told a news agency, according to Zee News. “He is under no obligation to perform a duty which disgusts him.”
