  • Sharif says Karachi operation is against criminals, not any political party
  • Assures all possible support to LEAs to successfully undertake this task

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday categorically stated that the Karachi Operation was initiated by taking all the parties into confidence and it is against criminals and not a specific political party.

Addressing the award ceremony of Karachi Stock Exchange, PM Sharif felicitated the winning companies and wished them luck for their future plans.

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is keen to curb terrorism from the country as Operation Zarb-e-Azb has destroyed all the hideouts of terrorists.

“Karachi Operation was initiated in September 2013 by taking all the parties into confidence whereas the government, with administration’s help, has tried to make Karachi free from terrorism, target killing, kidnapping for ransom and street crimes as we want to make Karachi heaven for the citizens,” he added.

The premier said that due to the operation, many crimes such as target killing, extortion and kidnapping for ransom have been curbed in Karachi, which is crucial to the economic progress of the country. He added that the 20-point National Action Plan (NAP) is being implemented successfully in all provinces of Pakistan.

The premier further said that the country has suffered the loss of a great number of lives and billions to its economy due to the fight against terror, hence the government will not stop until the fight reaches its logical conclusion.

He added that the government is striving to not only steer the country out of energy crisis but provide cheap electricity to the citizens and industries. He said economic revival is a major challenge which cannot be overcome without overcoming the shortage of energy. He said that is why the government is focusing on overcoming energy shortage and initiated different projects for this purpose.

The ceremony was also attended by Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, KSE Chairman and State Bank Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra.

  1. Talk, Talk , Talk. All talk. I shudder everyday when I google the latest Pakistan news. Death and tragedy is the mantra of Pakistan today. They gun down people, gun down dogs…anything that moves is vulnerable. Unless and until the people rise up and demand leadership that will be held accountable for restoring law and order in the country, nothing will change. Without law and order you have NOTHING. Unfortunately for Pakistan, your leaders thrive and profit on disorder. Get it together people.
